THE MV SONGHEE

THE VESSEL
Built in 1944, the MV Songhee is of heavy, wood construction and served as a supply vessel for the Canadian navy and air force until she was retired in 1990. Since then, the Songhee has been refurbished to provide comfortable cruising in the coastal waters of British Columbia. The Songhee is Transport Canada approved.

She is of wood construction, very solidly built and comfortable.

MACHINERY
- Original Atlas Imperial - 400 hp. 6 cylinder diesel engine
- 3 electric power plants (3.5kw, 16kw and 30kw)
- Crane with extendible boom
- Two 800-lb. anchors
- 1 auxiliary diesel to operate the crane, winch and pumps
- Electric driven pressure pump for fire fighting and bilge pumping
THE CREW
The Songhee is crewed by qualified personnel, all of whom have extensive experience cruising British Columbia's coastal waters.
GUEST ACCOMMODATIONS
- 6 staterooms, with double bunks, 1 single
- All are equipped with a hanging locker, storage and hand washing basin
- 2 washrooms, each with a shower, head (toilet) and hand washing basin
CREW ACCOMMODATIONS
- FOCSICLE
6 bunks restricted for crew use and storage.
- MAIN DECK
On the main deck forward of the galley are 4 small staterooms, 3 single bunked, 1 double bunked reserved for the Captain. Engineer, Deckhand and chef.
- WHEEL HOUSE
Upholstered seat that converts into large double bed. Toilet and a combination refrigerator; 2-burner stove and sink.
GALLEY
- Oil Range with oven and a large Electric oven
- Electric Grill with burners (2)

- 2 Stainless Steel Sinks
- Dishwasher
- Refrigerator with freezer above
